In Kiara's(Gabrielle Union) case she was addicted to Trevor(Earl Jones). No matter the mental, physical or verbal abuse he'd supply, she'd continue to revolt back to him.
He was her marijuana, she just couldn't help but to smoke him. Her hope of him finally realizing his love for her slowly falters away further into their five year relationship.

Her family and friends pray that she will soon realize he's nothing but a bad habit that needs to die hard.

Until then, she remains blinded by her boyfriend's "love".
