Riley is a 15 year old fighter. No, she doesn't train with punching bags at the gym. She fights for her life everyday.
After her father died when she was 11 years old, her mother drowned herself in drugs and alcohol, completely blocking out her responsibilities. Including Riley.
She lives in a dump and almost constantly forgets to be fed. She sleeps on a thin mattress on the floor and doesn't remember the last time she had power or water.
Then she meets Jason; the boy next door living the life. He was the rich kid, the role model of the neighborhood. That is until He sneaks out one night to pull off a great school heist; he spray painted the school walls. He figures no one would expect him to do it.
Well then he accidentally climbed into Riley's window... whoops
Well like it or not now there stuck in the same boat. And Jason has car. And Riley just happens to need to escape.
So with some blackmail, Jason and Riley are suddenly on a road trip, escaping their lives.
Where are they going? They don't know.

{Book 1 of Deception series} "That's seriously what you think?" She asks in bewilderment. I scoff, "No its what I know. I watched it with my own two eyes Ashlynn." Her eyes stay closed during that statement only to open again with amusement dancing in them. Breathlessly she says, "But if you don't kiss me in the next two seconds I'm going to combust." My body hums in anticipation. This girl is going to be the death of me. +++ Ashlynn conceals her trauma behind a facade of perfection. Never a hair out of place, makeup to cover the bruises, outfits to hide the scars- all because she's afraid to appear weak. Jaxon chooses to embrace the trauma to fuel his anger. He uses fighting as a release. He is who he is and he's unapologetic about it. He can see the pain behind the illusion she creates. She looks past his anger to the complex emotions underneath. Will they be each other's salvation? Or will they choose to continue coping alone?

" You only truly miss someone when they are gone. And sometimes, it's hard to let go. But you have to let him go..." It is hard when your loved one is gone. But for Riley, it was something different. In a sick sort of way, she loved it-reminiscing about Leo, literally drowning in the memories of him. And it isn't long till Riley does drown herself among those gray memories, shutting and shunning the world forever, in a place too far to reach. She is already so gone, that every one of her friends and family are very close to giving up, and on each tick of the clock Riley is close to letting go. Will a curious stranger's words save her, or will Riley try to save herself? *If you read the summary, and decided that it is some sort of typical clichè , I'd like to tell you that this is NOT a cliche 'damsel-in-distress-saved-by-a-knight-in-shining-armour' story at all. You won't find anything such as that, as the tags suggests too. But yes, there will be few moments of cliche.* •Warning• : Things about suicide, self-harm, depression; contains kissing and cuss words-so read at your own risk And also, even though it's edited, it still can have few mistakes.
