The consequences of the divorce are Yamiko and her mother moving to the United States from St.Thomas . Along with the divorce and the big move Yamiko has to learn to adapt to her new found "American Society". She runs into trouble with a bad crowd ,finds love, and even has the chance to get her parents back together. While discovering her true purpose in life or her "petals of life ".
