Certainly they could trust that those in power ultimately had the best interests of the people in mind, right? ~~~ Luna slouched low in her seat, staring at droplets of water that ran diagonally down the window of the bus. The sky was a flat, depressing grey and the incessant, soaking rain left her constantly chilled. It was a typical "liquid sunshine" day in the Pacific Northwest. They drove past a single tall scraggly tree on top of a hill shrouded in mist. The creepy tree was full of screaming crows. How could she hear them from inside the bus when she couldn't even seem to hear the voices of the kids around her? Geez, that was an awfully freaking dark image. She shivered and looked away. What did they call a group of crows again? Right, a murder of crows. Perfect. The weather was certainly the only thing that was typical these days, although you'd never know it by looking around the bus at most of the kids as they sat joking and gossiping with each other just like they had before... before that day everything had changed. Idiots.

The apocalypse was caused by an alien raise coming to earth and proclaiming they'll fix the planet. Their way to 'fix' it being destroying humanity with a plague. However they didn't expect the human body to be as persistent as it is, the infection they spread mutating and making humans reanimate with a hunger for flesh. They thought they could contain it, control it even, but it's spreading faster than they thought. The world is dying faster than ever before. And Carisa only want to survive, to make it to the next day, bumping into an Alien she thought she'd be petrified. But upon further inspection... their not that much different that humans. Curiosity at its peek with both of them and so she gains a tail always creeping behind her. The aliens just won't let her go. Story is written on my free time so it has a lot of typos, sorry. It's been marked #1 in "alien race" wow It's been marked #1 in "infection" I did not expect taht considering it's been finished a while now but hey interesting to have for however long it lasts. If a citizen was good and broke no laws, then the scientists would stimulate Heav, the equivalent to Heaven. If a citizen broke a few minor laws, they would go for Rebirth, where they are born with the same personality and mind, just different looks. If a citizen goes to jail for more than 15 years, the scientists would stimulate Ell, the equivalent to Hell. Lorian Hurando, director of the Afterlife Project, knows things about the system that few people know about. But when a letter arrives in the ocean of death threats one day that tells him to 'retire' or he will be in grave danger, he took the chance and retired. The letter is one in a series of letters that is all from a mysterious sender initialed H in cursive. When the final letter tells him to shut down the Afterlife, he must decide between right and wrong. But first he must know which is which. Heather Dia is the daughter of a store manager. When her dad is falsely accused and is sent to Ell, she is heartbroken and decides to get revenge on Director Lorian and leads him on a wild goose chase in order to shut down Afterlife, telling him that he will be in grave danger. But as time progresses, Heather wonders if she'll be right.

It'll only be within the time spent with the new group will she find out that everything's not as happy and welcoming as it had seemed. These people had a few secrets of their own, including the real reason they took Megan in.
