I usually write this when I'm half asleep lol.
This is sort of a boredom reliever and my writing skills are definitely not the best so don't expect something very good.
BASED ON THE GAME INSIDE AND NICK'S (ZRES) PLAYTHROUGH OF THE GAME. KINDA

For some years now, ever since a beacon emitting dark energy appeared in central United States, people have started to forget. They forgot who they were, and what had led to this event. The government took control. The cities were now guarded by huge walls and heavily armed guards. Anyone who rebelled against them were hunted down and killed. However, it was those who rebelled who knew the truth. You see, everyone who complied to the government slowly but surely became mindless slaves stuck in a false sense of happiness. The rebels saw it as it truly was; a grey world filled with death and loneliness. The only way to cure the world? Destroy the beacon, which was located in the Capitol, the now most guarded place.

This story follows Nick, a lone survivor. He had just started to accept that there was no way to return the wasteland of the world back to the way it was. That is, before he meets someone from his past.
