Percy Jackson is a 16 year old mortal. His mother was killed by his abusive step-father, which he is now forced to live with. He attends Goode High school. What happens when a certain group of friends get to close to him?

He wants to be a marine photographer and is a closet gay. Nico di Angelo is the supposed emo sophomore who always sits alone in the back of the room. Besides his stepsister, Hazel, the only other person he talks to is Jason Grace, the junior equivalent of Percy Jackson who became Nico's best friend after he figured out Nico was gay and being abused by his father. Nico also has one little problem. He may or may not have a tiny crush on the sex god that is senior Percy Jackson. After years of hiding deep in the closet, Percy ad Nico create anonymous accounts on a gay dating website. As fate would have it, they were matched at the beginning of the school year and have been talking ever since.

"Look, those bruises don't come from nowhere," Apollo said. "Whatever happened to you had to have been serious." "It was. It was messed up," Will interrupted, laughing darkly. Percy shot him a glare. They were supposed to be playing this down, not making it worse. ------ "What," Percy scoffed, "and I'm just supposed to trust you?" ++You don't have a choice. A magic talking book with all your secrets written out like a YA novel appears and starts ordering you around, and you're not going to listen to it?++ To that, he didn't have an answer. ++Kid, I am your god++ Percy deadpanned. But he mainly blamed it on the sea-green-eyed boy also caught in the attack. Why did Bianca have to die and not him? Inside, he knew it wasn't Percy's fault. He knew Percy had no fault in it and that Nico was just crazy. And he didn't hate Percy. He loved Percy. But when life comes to you from the moment you are born, the only thing your mother could say to God was "help". Because life is cruel. When you love someone, they're taken. That's what happened when Percy disappeared from their lives when they were twelve. When he came back, a whole different person. When he came back with different friends.
