The Hunger Games - the 73rd to be specific. The one everyone wants to forget. It wasn't the bloodiest. Nothing like when Annie Cresta, a previous victor, had seen for herself a decapitation. No, it wasn't a physical struggle either. The 73rd Hunger Games, in fact, was the one the gamemakers made the easiest. But it was what happened in those games that left scars. A mental struggle, one that had struck the citizens of Panem very much, almost as much as the 74th Games. Because the 73rd Games changed life. Especially for Allie.

❝Who are you? Who 𝘢𝘮 I?❞ ✑✑✑✑ All tributes know when and how they get in the Arena. The Victor, however, never knows when or how they get out. Not until Claudius Templesmith announces their name and district to the entire nation. Once the tribute becomes a victor, they're taken out of the Arena. Only to eventually realise they never truly escaped. The nightmares, the cameras, the deals, nothing ever lets them forget. Their entire lives, they're reminded of what they did. The mask of luxury that covers their sleepless nights and destructive thoughts, is kept in place by the finest glue known to President Snow; a bit of hope mixed in the bowl of darkness and fear. There's but one problem with that mask. For it to work, the victor must have two essential things; haunting vivid memories and loved ones they would trade their lives to protect. One without the other is to no use. So when Olive Navin Cresta survives the 69th Hunger Games with no recollection of her time in the Arena, the mask gets destroyed before it's even placed. Please, don't forget, the odds are never in our favour. ✑✑✑✑✑✑✑✑✑ 𝕒𝕞𝕟𝕖𝕤𝕚𝕒𝕔 /𝕒𝕞ˈ𝕟𝕚ː𝕫ɪ𝕒𝕜/ 𝕟𝕠𝕦𝕟, '𝕒 𝕡𝕖𝕣𝕤𝕠𝕟 𝕖𝕩𝕡𝕖𝕣𝕚𝕖𝕟𝕔𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕒 𝕡𝕒𝕣𝕥𝕚𝕒𝕝 𝕠𝕣 𝕥𝕠𝕥𝕒𝕝 𝕝𝕠𝕤𝕤 𝕠𝕗 𝕞𝕖𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕪.' ✑✑✑✑✑✑✑✑✑ I DO NOT OWN THE HUNGER GAMES I only own my OC and part of her family. My representation of the 69th Hunger Games, a few side characters that aren't mentioned in the book, and their backstory. The book is based off The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. The life of a victor isn't always great. Amelia Sawyer knew that all too well. After winning the 67th Hunger Games, she found herself back in District 12 living in the Victors' Village. Only leaving to mentor other kids every year. As the 74th Hunger Games rolls around she is introduced to Katniss and Peeta. From there the life she knew began to change, and Amelia begins to see things for the better. And in that change she helps Haymitch find the light, and the two grow closer than ever.
