It is 1961, and Harry is a good-for-nothing teenager who is part of a gang called the Careless Ones. He gets in trouble, has fights, drinks, smokes, and is seen as a wild boy. Marie is just the opposite. She is rich, has a famous mother, has great grades, a good boyfriend, and is seen as a nice, acceptable young lady.
