It is 2007 the cold war has been raging on for many years. Most members of congress have died but the U.S. government can not replace them as the government bugget cannot be spent replace the dead congress members. Only 16 members remain.
This is an alternate universe. Dont yell at me for saying that the cold war lasted until 2007.

The War of the Future
The year is 2050 and humankind is in an age of prosperity. Everything started in 2036. The pollution was so bad that the end of the world was predicted to be right around the corner. As complete panic set in around the world, the rich and important people were all gathered and placed on giant spaceships with enough resources and room to house generations of human beings. Before they left though, the government leaders fired As a result, most of the human population died off and earth was a complete wasteland. The little that survived started building local communities and trying to survive in the destroyed excuse of a planet. On the disaster of a planet, creatures mutated and were born out of the nuclear chemicals; creating new species and monsters that hunted humans. While hundreds and hundreds of years passed, the monsters kept evolving and the people kept adapting while still trying to keep a sort of community. They didn't want to lose all of their humanity and become nothing more than animals that hunted the monsters: then they would truly be no better than the monsters themselves. So they stayed civil while still doing what it took to survive.Complete

It was supposed to be a nice vacation with his father in London but it all change when the rage virus was released in London destroying the country in several days. During the 28 days, he met with other survivors and some died and gain new ones but in the end, he eventually was recused by the US military and shipped to the U.S. 28 weeks later he returns back to London in order to repopulate the country but soon or later Thomas will be new people even a new girl but unknown to him he'll have to fight the same nightmare again.Complete
Fight like hell
No one saw this coming, something like this happening is never planned by anyone, it was small at first, subtle warning's from the news then it hit hard within a couple hours, weeks. Pretty soon people were screaming, running from loved one's that caught a strange virus that was floating around for some reason that is still unknown a year later. Now everyone is fighting to be the last one standing as if it's a game, there are only a few people left in only a year, there's rumours about a cure going around but I know that's fake, nobody would be stupid enough to test if their immune. The First
I was the first. I arrived in the Glade, and there was nothing and... no one. I remembered nothing about who I was, who my parents were, what happened. A few days I remembered my name, and that's it. That's all that ever came back. There were four walls surrounding me with only one exit. I wanted to go through, so I did, in hopes of finding my way out. What I found lurking on the other side was not an exit but something much worse. I found my way back, and I spent the next month fending for myself. Food, water, a temporary shelter. After a month, someone else arrived, and this person arrived with supplies. Every month a new person was sent up. Every arrival was the same as mine. They couldn't remember anything. I never believed it would end like this. I was just watching Netflix when the power went out, then before I knew it everyone was screaming, then the school began to shake and fell to the ground. Only three kids in my entire school were spared, four if you count me. I found a group of people heading to the east coast for a boat trip to a supposed safe haven in India.
