Wally West's perfect life shatters with the murder of his mother. His dad becomes an abusive alcoholic in his misery, and his young son has to deal with the repercussions. After an accident, Wally gains superspeed, but his father's neglect prevents him from discovering his abilities. Then comes Uncle Barry, aka the Flash.

When he doesn't show up for practice, the Team goes to investigate where their happy-go-lucky speedster is, and learns his dark secret. One that is just as dark as some of theirs... One that will change the course of all their lives, in just one night.... I am so sorry, but this has been on my mind for awhile, and I really feel like I need to do a sad/angsty Wally book, or else all of my emotions will be brought up.
