"Cold hearted witch", "Stone cold bitch" and her personal favourite, "Spawn of the Dark God himself" are only some of the names she's labelled with, but then again, none of that has ever bothered her, for what could cause a person to lose a war faster than they can start one than unnecessary feelings of hurt and weakness?
But behind the borders of her kingdom, when war is not looming over her people, there are the rare moments where she can be seen smiling, freely, there have also been rare moments where she's laughed and celebrated with her people.
But those moments seem so far away. Because there is a new dangerous threat to her homeland, and Aelin has no idea where it's coming from. Not to mention there are 5 strangers at her borders asking for an alliance and speaking about an enemy long thought dead.
But what happens when these strangers aren't telling the entire truth? And end up selling her people, and her heart? Can she fight this enemy and figure out these strangers in time, or will she trade her soul to the dark god in exchange for her people's survival? The two Beast Kins are also soulmates to each other like the Fae and Merfolk are to each other as well, too.
