The infamous God of Mischief has just been returned to Asgard after committing his unlawful acts on Earth. Odin has seemingly every intention of sentencing him to execution for his crimes. However, Frigga and Thor have begged for him to be given a fair trial, to which Odin reluctantly agrees. Henceforth, the Asgardian Queen secretly plots with her eldest son to figure out an alternate course entirely for the youngest and troubled son of the Asgard. A plan that involves a group of familiar family friends from their neighboring northern most star. But one person in particular that Frigga is most counting on is the mysterious Princess and Angel of Medina, who is profoundly known for her incredible longing to help heal and offering compassion to lost souls, as well as her astounding, Gods-given power. In order for the Princess to partake in this plan, she must earn the trust of the God of Mischief. That will be no easy take in itself. And, much to her dismay, attempting to help the tormented Prince of Tricks may not be all that it is cracked up to be. Furthermore, how will the cold-hearted, broken God behave once he is forced to counteract with the strangely stubborn, uncommonly beautiful Angel of Medina? Even more disturbingly, what will happen when a new enemy threatens to destroy all around them? What happens when the ones Christine trusts most turn their backs on her? What will become of her world of Medina and the beloved Golden City, which she considers to be a second home? This is an adaptation from the Darkness Series: a twist on the story if you will. It will not contain all of the same characters from the original series, and the plot line will be very different. You may find that even the main characters themselves are slightly different in their personalities and mannerisms. Enjoy! *I do not claim to own any Marvel characters in this story. I do, however, take credit for all other characters and Medina's origin as well.

{SET BEFORE THE EVENTS OF 'THOR'} - "Did you know," she said, sitting on the ground and turning to the prince, "that Midgard has an entire language dedicated to flowers? Each of them mean something else. It's a very sweet way they can express emotions to each other." Loki laughed quietly. "Midgard can truly be backwards at times, but they are amusing." He nodded to the flower she had just essentially brought back to life. "What does the gardenia symbolize in this language?" "Young love," she answered after a moment of hesitation. "Secret love." Loki felt something flutter in his chest. - Arranged marriages are something out of Shakespeare and ancient history. At least that is the thought of Loki Odinson, but his father clearly has other plans. In a political move aimed to unite Vanaheim and Asgard, Loki is betrothed to the youngest daughter of the royal family of the neighboring realm, Vanaheim. Loki, who doesn't even know if he believes in love at all, finds himself in a very odd position, especially because he's met his betrothed before. A marriage date is set, but both the bride and the groom are less than satisfied. Can love grow out of circumstance?
