After witnessing the death of his best friend, Landon is caught in a deadly fire that almost claims his life as well, that is, until he's saved by a mysterious girl with fiery red hair. He wakes up in the hospital some time later and begins his relentless search for the girl who saved his life. ~2 years later~. Lux has been on the run from the foster care system for almost 3 years; eluding cops and social workers at every turn. That is, until she's caught and forced back in to the system 8 months before her 18th birthday. Lux soon discovers that surviving on the streets and surviving high school are two completely different things When all attempts at flying-under-the-radar are completely botched by Landon, the hot-headed bad boy at her new school who seems to have taken an interest in her. Will this fiery red head and this dangerous bad boy every get along? Or will everything just go up in smoke? Nothing burns like a memory.
