Taking place in California, a boy named Austin Moon goes through his last couple years of high school dealing with torture, reminiscences, and the stages of falling in love. 

Derek O'Connell is the jock of the school, who picks on nerds like Austin. One day, when his teachers get tired of him failing his classes, they order Austin to tutor him. 

One day comes after another and Derek and Austin learn more about each other. Austin falls even deeper in love with Derek. Secrets are revealed. And things change for the better or for the worse. 

But something that Derek doesn't remember is that they had met once a long time ago. Will he find it in his soul to remember the child that he once got along so well with?
