Poetry is not just words strung together with rhymes, similes and metaphors to look cute. Poetry is to twist words around to express what the author is feeling or thinking. Poetry is figuring out the thin veiled meanings that the author is hiding. It's figuring out the story, where's your place in this world. It's figuring out what your role is.
