Battleship (fanfiction)

The navy was never Charlie's idea of a career. But when her father forces her to follow in his footsteps she doesn't like the outcome. Charlie Sawyer is known for nothing more than her last name. Will she survive standing behind her father's name, or will she create one of her own. During a scientific experiment with a goal of reaching and communicating with outside life, things go wrong. The world will fall and so will it's people unless Charlie, Hopper, and the navel fleet can stop it.
