Leigh Nightingale's survival of the freak car accident that killed her parents has left her world crumbling from beneath her fingertips. Forced to move in with her estranged relatives the D'Angelos, Leigh is just hoping to make it through the year without completely losing her sanity. Unfortunately, life is more complicated. Her cousin Cassandra is not at all the shy person she's been parading as, concealing a much darker and disturbed nature underneath, the accident haunts her day and night, and as she discovers, may have not even been an accident, and her uncle's increasingly strange behavior and the diary in the attic suggest something beyond her comprehension taking place in the sleepy town of Willow. And to top it all off, her beautiful Literature teacher, the young Mr. Keller Cross, just so happens to love Edgar Allen Poe.
