All her life Alice had been told that the reason that the world is slowly being enveloped in chaos is because of the humans. She thinks otherwise.
Alice blames it all on the Aarie, Shadows, and Hunters.
Aarie are half vampire half human creatures whose emotions are based on hate, meaning that they really aren't very nice. At all. They can reproduce with their own kind, but they can also produce a completely different species with humans. It's species is either going to be a Shadow or a Hunter.
Shadows and Hunters are creatures that age incredibly slow because of the fact that they are one third vampire. And they both inherit a tendency to despise everything, but what makes them different? Shadows hate the earth so much that most of them just commit suicide. Hunters have more complex ways to get revenge-they hate earth so much that they wish to kill their Aarie parents for bringing them into this world.
The problem is that they don't care to clean up after they killed their parents and the people who got in their way. This brings them all close to being discovered by the wrong government agencies and yes, modern technology has weapons powerful enough to put all three species in the extinction category.
For centuries Shadows have been teaming up to either A) come up with a way that Hunters will no longer be born into the world, or B) just kill the Hunters off.
Alice is a Shadow, and has joined Team B. She can't wait for her first assignment.
