"I felt your pain, Derek." she whispered. "The moment the alpha impaled you, I felt it."
"Calista." he said, his voice dominant and yet full of care and worry for the girl.
"I know. You want to keep your distance." she looked at her feet. Her chemosignals were dripping sadness at this point.
Derek stood up from her bed, his muscles flexing while he tried to keep his balance as he was still in the process of healing.
"That's the last I want to do." he said. She could feel one of his arms snake around her waist. Her eyes met his and they way he looked at her made her feel like she finally had some control in all of this.
Derek brushed his lips across hers while wrapping both his arms completely around the girl he felt nothing but adoration for. Calista leaned forward deepening the kiss.

How could have she possibly been assigned an undercover job there? Better question, how was she supposed to survive with someone like Stiles Stilinski and Scott McCall by her side and not entirely blow her secret identity?
