Lillie who is quite, not very sociable, and smart moves away from her home town Huntington, West Virginia to stay with her aunt and uncle for a while. she left behind all her friends and family to go live with aunt Mel and uncle Hugh who lived in Oakland California. she felt like there were better opportunities that way. she was deeply into the sport she's played since she was 8, volleyball. she also did track. when she decides to come home to Virginia she notices her parents have left their old farm house and moved to a nice modern ranch. she also realizes the boy she use be so close with lives next door to her family's house. she's always had a secret crush on him every since she met him.
