As one of Blue Diamond's court, Apatite was an important gem to the Diamond Authority. When the events of a Sapphire and a Ruby soldier fusing occurred, she was sent to Yellow Diamond to help gather information for fusion experiments. 
Knowing that she could end up being targeted by the rebels, Yellow Diamond assigns a Citrine to guard her, as rubies can no longer be trusted as a reliable defense. 
Could there be a chance for the fusions to be a success? Or perhaps there could be something new unseen by the all-knowing Diamond Authority?
