I knelt down in front of him, his body slumped over a chair. My stomach twisted into knots just looking at his bloody face and bruised chest. Teardrops fell from my eyes, rolling down my flushed cheeks. I bit my lip in an effort not to cry aloud. Rick would kill me if he knew I was over here.

I untied his hands, eyeing the door periodically. "I'm so sorry. This is my fault," I whispered.

He stirred, slowly opening his eyes before lifting his head from his chest. He winced trying to sit up properly, but I put a hand on his thigh to stop him.

His usually beautiful brown orbs looked bloodshot as they finally landed on me. "Baby..." His voice was raspy and his breathing was heavy. He closed his eyes and a pained expression crossed his face. "You...need to get out of here.."

I shook my head. "I can't leave you."

He scoffed. "Yes you can and you will."

I sighed. "Why?"

He coughed. "Because he's coming back to kill me."

I shook my head, tears threatening to fall again. "No he-"

"Once I'm dead, what do you think he'll do to you?"
