"You Me At Eight" the note said. (1.) Wait outside the diner. (2.) I take your hand and walk through the doors. (3.) We sit at the booth right next to the boombox. (4.)We order our supreme chunky monkey shake (two straws) (5.) While we wait, we put in a dime and listen to Elvis classics. (6.) We dance till our stomachs ache with laughter. (7.) We sit back down and slurp up our shake. (8.) We talk about each others lives until the shake is all at the bottom. Then we leave without a word and meet again the next day till the disco ball drops.

I met him at the candy store... I was grabbing a soda after school and decided to stop by Mrs. Wagner's famous candy store which Mr. Wagner owned and ran. Mrs. Wagner is getting older and she's sick. I was grabbing my soda as I hear a roar from outside the door. Both myself and Mr. Wagner turned to look and walking in was a tall boy. His hair blonde and perfect his sunglasses moved to his collar and his leather jacket covering his arms. "Afternoon Mr. Wagner." He says before heading to the back and grabbing a case of soda to restock the now empty refrigerator. I look out seeing a pack of motorcycles heading off down the street. "Afternoon Jimmy, how was school?" Mr. Wagner asks. "Good." Jimmy replies before stopping at the door into the back room and turning around and smiling at me. I smile a little before I head for the door. "See you tomorrow Mr. Wagner!" I call. "Good bye Elizabeth!" He calls back before I have walked out the door and down the street. "It's Betty." I grumble. I hate that name...after mom left that name means nothing to me. I stop thinking negatively when I pass his bike. His chrome sparkling in the sun light. My cheeks are heating up after having seen him in the store window as I passed by. Jimmy I let his name float around my head before I dared to speak it. "Jimmy." I whisper. It tingled as it left my lips. I think I just fell for the leader of the pack. This book is loosely based off the song Leader of the pack. Please enjoy!
