Ebony Karter lives on her own in a small house in the suburbs of Seattle. Her mother, Kristie Karter, is a nurse in the Red Cross for the US army, and is deployed over seas to help care for wounded soldiers. Ebony would have been alright, if not for one ghost, or more of Demon, who's freedom from the devil and hell, and the gateway to an immortal life, rests in the palms of Ebony's seventeen year old hands. As Ebony gets to know this demon, Nikolai, secrets become unveiled, secrets her mother never told her. How Ebony may be the difference between peace on earth, or chaos and hell finally ruling over every living being. Ebony will test the very fabric of heaven, hell, and destiny to figure out what the right choice is.
