Harriet Jones and her family moved into Red Forest House, filled with three families including Harriet's family. Red Forest House had secrets, many that people have yet discovered. One year ago a boy by the name of Noah was pushed down the stairs inside the house and he died on impact with the ground. The boy didn't move on, and instead remained inside the house. Noah appears as a human. He has human body heat and a physical body, you can't push your hand through him like they do in movies. When Harriet meets Noah she instantly gains a friendship with him, and Harriet believes that Noah is human. Harriet slowly starts loving this boy, and he starts to love her too, the only problem; he's dead and she's alive. Noah LeMat Dobson knew he was dead. He knew that he had no chance at finding love again. But when he meets Harriet he knows that she is different to every other girl he's met. She's not scared of anything. She doesn't cry when having mean things thrown at her. She laughs uncontrollably and smacks her hands on a table when something is too funny to handle. In Noah's eyes, Harriet is perfect. Noah and Harriet slowly fall in love, neither knowing this of course, but when Harriet is told that she has to move away to a new place, Noah instantly turns his back on Harriet when she tries to explain. Can Harriet convince her parents to let her stay at Red Forest House? Or will they ignore her pleading and leave anyway?

Dawn Davis is an eighteen-year-old girl. Or, at least, she was, until the horrible horse accident that lead to her death. Now, she's a three-hundred-eighteen-year-old (sort of) ghost that's not quite dead (or a ghost). She's stayed the small town of Blue Falls in North Carolina. It's so small, it's unheard of. Dawn is a spiritual being called an In-between. She is something that isn't quite a dead, and not quite alive. In-betweens are physically bound to the city they died in, and usually stay in their old homes. As an In-between, she is never heard or seen. At least, she hadn't been until a certain, special, sixteen-year-old Artemis Alexander finds her lurking around. Artemis and his big family just moved into the house on the grounds where Dawn used to live. Dawn needs to find out why this Artemis boy can see her. It's never happened in the three hundred years she'd been (not quite) dead. Artemis is your regular kid of science, the one you barely see in the background, and he is far from superstitious. Artemis doesn't believe in anything science does not explain. So how do you think he feels when he begins to see people that glow but aren't quite there? Or how about one that's not quite dead?
