    Pablo, personaje principal. Joven ciego, de muy buena posición social que conocía sus tierras como la palma de su mano y disfrutaba de la compañía de la Nela y de las lecturas de su padre. Joven muy sensible e inteligente. 
    
    Teodoro Golfín, hombre de mediana edad, bondadoso y de principios rectos. Médico que le da el don de la vista a Pablo e intenta salvar a la Nela. 
    
    Francisco Penáguilas, personaje secundario. Padre de Pablo que se desvive por ofrecerle a su hijo todas sus riquezas. Hombre inteligente y bueno.
