Its about a girl that has an optimistic Mind, who loves to read but when her parents cant take care of her and she thinks theywant to give her to an adoption center she has to think of the one thing she loves .   Pies, and only because her grandparents live in a bakery in Albany New York and the only way she can get there is if she goes by herself on the subway but she doesn't know how to get there because her parents don't trust her well and she doesn't know if she can trust them.
