(From the diary of Riker Lynch) Riker just needs time away, some time to let his wounds heal. His family has been very unsupportive of his sexuality. Going public with the fact that he's gay was hard enough, but he didn't think it would change the way his family saw him. His father and brothers abused him, and his sister teased him. So, in an attempt to regain control of his life he runs off to live on his own, but he soon finds that he is not alone in his new house.
