Forgotten

Jack and I are soulmates, we had realized we were destined for each other as soon as we met and this was our second year together. Every Friday night we went out to play pool with friends. On of those nights I had gone to the restroom only to come back from the bathroom confused over the strange encounter with an old lady. I spotted Jack and ran up to him excited & hugged him tightly.

As I stared into his big brown almond shape eyes, I realized the glow of happiness he once had when he saw me was gone. I soon realized he had no clue who I was. I had shared my two toughest years with him. He knew my secret, he had been my guardian angel. I felt my heart drop, a huge hole in my stomach began to form. As I held back my tears, I heard him say. "Hi I'm Jack. Do you want to play pool with my friends?".
I was a vampire, so I easily compelled him & erase the awkward moment of having a stranger come up to you & hug you. That's what I was, a stranger. No longer his soulmate. I decided to be selfish as I followed him to the pool table. I wanted to be near him, even if it meant being his friend.
