Kana Lewis isn't from Earth. She's a part of an alien species named "the Lamia" that others refer to as vampires. Her and her family are on the run from their home planet since it has been thrown into chaos. When another species of aliens called "the Revenants" come after them they have no choice but to go into hiding.
When somebody finds them and knows their secret their world it turned upside down. They fear the revenants will find them now too but they can't run this time. The man who found them forces them to carry out missions from their home planet, Vandal, such as train and work with a partner to carry out the missions. They risk being killed if they don't oblige the man's wishes to help fix Vandal.
What will Kana and her family do? Will she escape the mysterious man? Or will her and her family be found by the Revenants?

I thought about this for a moment. But I knew what the outcome would be. I loved him and I would do anything for him. "I'll do it," I stated and watched my world fade into darkness as he was suddenly upon me.

While Adlet and Jenna intend on doing this by the books, their unsavory past with two of String's captains may muddy their judgement, or, more accurately, it already has. As String's ambitions grow beyond just controlling the city's underbelly Adlet and Jenna are forced to take action with an ally he did not desire. While prejudice against E.H.s reaches it's peak because of a horrific tragedy, the Soldiers of the New World waste no time to expand their reach and rally for their cause of taking over the city.
