I stared. For once, I was the one staring at him. I was not expecting those words to come out. I didn't want them either.
"I love you, Avalin!" His eyes were pleading with me. Desperate for me to say something. And I would, but it wasn't in his favor.
"I don't want it. I don't want to be loved Phoenix." I quietly whispered the words that would break both him and I. I was acting like he was a stranger. Like he wasn't the one guy that saved my life.
He stepped forward trying to put his hand to my cheek as I took a step back.
The sad look in his eyes suddenly disappeared as he saw me cower away.
"You don't get to say that! You don't get to, alright?! After everything that we have been through, you can't say that you don't feel something for me. I won't allow it." He was pushing the fallen strands of hair back as he was trying to keep his tears in. I was hurting him and it was intentional this time.
"I never said I didn't feel something for you, Pheonix. And that's why you can't be near me anymore, alright? Stay away from me, Phoenix."
I quickly turned around and walked away as he was calling for me to come back to him.
He was breaking.
But I was already shattered and he, nor anyone else can glue the pieces of glass back into the shape of my heart.

I'm not really good at these "sneak peaks," but give it a try. This description is also kind of sad, but the ending is gonna for sure be good. You won't ever regret adding this to your library.
