STOP RIGHT THERE Mrs Priya Ekaansh Raghuvanshi, a shiver ran down her spine listening his dangerous voice she gulp and tightly close her eyes,she was clutching her saree in her hands that her life depend on it. They dragged me out to the police car. I feel weak. I had dried blood all over me and I could barely move my fingers. The two officers laid me against the car as they opened the door. They harshly flipped me over. "Anything you say may be used against you in a court of law." One of them says. Mostly everything that I heard was starting to fade and it felt like my ears were popping. "I didn't..d-do anything wro-.." I tried to say but my voice was too weak to continue the sentence. "You have the right to consult an attorney before speaking to the police and to have an attorney present during questioning now or in the future. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed for you before any questioning if you wish." Was the last thing I heard before I realized that I couldn't breathe.

"Is she breathing?" a male voice asked. It didn't sound familiar at all, so it was probably a police officer or medic. Then again, nothing sounded familiar right now. I could hear screaming and crying all around me. I felt soaking wet and hot at the same time, which I didn't think was possible and I could feel someone gently shaking me. "Uggggnnnnnmmm," I groaned. "She's alive! Come on kid, wake up," another man exclaimed. "Nooooooooooo," I groaned again. I felt so tired, I just wanted to go back to sleep, but whoever was shaking me wouldn't stop. My eyes slowly opened, squinting at the bright lights that were shining all around me. Two men were hovering over me and they weren't who I thought they would be.

Fuck... A craped car. Full of family and friends,sitting on the LAP of my bestfriends dad. Moving around to get comfortable, I felt something poke me. His hands on my waist making me freeze. Remote starting my car, I hopped in deciding to check my phone while the air began to circulate. It was almost summer and it was hot as hell in New Orleans, had me second-guessing settling down here. I checked my messages, but didn't respond to any of them. Then I checked a few missed calls, but didn't return any of them. Lastly, I listened to a few voicemails from unknown numbers before starting to delete them but then my finger paused over one particular name. I never listen to her voicemails. I don't want to hear her voice; it just floods me with guilt and reminds me of my past, a place I don't ever want to visit. I don't know why but for some reason my finger hovered over that voicemail and I couldn't stop myself from clicking it. "Hi Dre," She spoke gently as my heart tightened in my chest,"Or Adrian," She chuckled softly,"I'm not sure what you like to be called anymore." There was a sadness in her tone,"I'm actually not sure why I'm even leaving this message...I've left a million and I still haven't heard from you over the past eight years so I don't know what makes me think this time will be any different." There was shuffling and a bit of silence before she sniffled,"But I miss you." My grip tightened around the phone. "I don't know where you are right now, or if you even still care about me, but I miss you," She cried,"And I really wish you'd come home." She whimpered. "I need you Dre...I don't know if that means much to you, but I need you." Then it ended. I sat in my car, steel gaze, staring at the road ahead. My mind racing but one thing was clear. It was time I went home..
