"You never seem to know what you're doing." I say, easing myself slowly into the car. "You always do what you have to at the time, never thinking ahead, never thinking of the future." I'm next to her now, her in the driver's seat and me in the passenger's. We're so close I can feel the warmth radiating off of her body in steady waves. "Why?" She chuckles humorlessly and looks back at me, her eyes sparkling. "That's not a good question, really. It's something we all do." She looks at me for a second before going back to playing with the wires in the car. "We drive without direction, thinking we'd go somewhere." She fiddles with the wires some more, until the engine roars and the car comes to life. She sits up, a satisfied smile on her face, and puts her hands on the wheel. I can feel his blue-gray eyes digging into the side of my head. I wipe my sweaty palms on my dress and turn my vision away from the moonlight reflecting onto the ocean off of this balcony.
