The cliche is that a beautiful woman can rise to the top when she meets a powerful man. And maybe she didn't know she was good enough for a handsome rich man. And maybe he didn't know he could love a woman enough to stop his playboy ways. But they'll meet and fight and fall in love, and end up rich and happy. This is not one of those stories.
Valerie has grown up surrounded by love and support, and her own brilliance and tenacity leads her to start a successful company. Aware of her beauty, she keeps a front on her business - not because she can't handle it, but because she's realistic. Logic and wit are her weapons, and she's okay with keeping in the shadows.
Maximus has grown up enveloped in the business world, and delays his fate by delving into a world of fantasy. A successful actor who knows his appearance gives him a leg up in any world, and makes a habit of 'rescuing women who crave a glimpse into his glamorous life'. Max isn't prepared for what happens when he meets a woman who needs no help. In fact, she's almost indifferent to him, and amused at his mentality.
*This is my first attempt at writing, and I'm writing it as something I would like to read. Things may be predictable, but hopefully not too cliche.
