Clarissa Norman was a miracle. She still is, really. Saved from a burning building at approximately four weeks old, she was put into orphanage. Of course she ended up being adopted, but nothing ever goes as expected. Her new parents were murdered, leaving her and her older sister--Lillian Norman--in their Uncle Pete's custody.

  But as Pete fails to take care of them, like any cliche, they're kidnapped and sold. Somehow, they managed to stick together. Yet, Lillian was unable to save Clarissa from being experimented on. Clarissa, repeatedly injected with a disease, builds an immunity to it. But it makes her semi-insane.
