Sam was never very popular. He was never very cool. He was never very nice.
He had his music and his nighttime ocean visits and his thoughts. He had all he needed. He didn't need a mom. He didn't need his deadbeat dad. He didn't need friends because he didn't want them.
But everyone needs someone.
"Friends?" He asks quietly, tentatively even. "I feel comfortable around you, in a very straight way, I'm not trying to flirt with you." He says the last part quickly, biting his lip. I guess he's worried I'm going to freak out. "Omg that gay dude just said he's comfortable being around me, ewww"
"Sure, friends. I'd like that. And don't worry about the whole gay thing. I'm fine with it." I smile at him, immediately I see Alabaster's shoulders relax.
"Man, I've learned so much about you in less than an hour." He sighs blissfully, looking up the street as a lamp flickers. "Diddo." I mumble, even though I'm still smiling.

There wasn't really anything all that special about me. I considered myself an average person with average looks. That being said, I also considered myself a very gaunt person. I was sort of a nerd. "Sam!!!! Sam!! Don't do it!!" I heard a deep voice saying as I was standing at the edge of the highest building in town. I was crying. "Sam! You don't have to do this!" The voice said "You don't have to go this far! How about us?! Your friends? Your family?" I was going to pass out from crying. And if I pass out, of course I'm going to fall! I'm on the edge of the building! Then I feel dizzy and my eyes got blurry. When I was about to fall, someone pulled me. I didn't see who was it but I could feel that it was hugging me and sat down. Then it let go when I heard four girls and two guys coming and they were worried. It was a familliar voice. It is someone's voice that I've known for long. Then I could hear them crying and the sound of the ambulance. I can't see anything but I can hear and feel everything. "Sam, please stay. You've been there for everytime I'm sad and I'm sorry," the deep voice said "I'm sorry for everything but please stay! Please!!," I could feel that it was holding my hands. I could feel that it was shaking and it was cold. And I xould hear him crying. I remembered holding this hand but I'm not sure who it was. The boy who was trying to help this poor soul had approached a few paces. His voice was now quieter, more soft, and still caring. The boy at the bridge took a moment to think, then nodded his approval. The savior gently took the boy's hands delicately in his own and gently pulled the boy back. Well, less of a pull and more of a gentle suggestion. It worked and the boy stumbled down off of the edge. The boy started to cry. How could he be so weak that a boy, the same age as him, who seemed to have the same ideas and hatred toward himself as he, could keep him from stepping off? The other simply gently led him to his vehicle and took out a water bottle out of the backseat. The boy took it and looked at it suspiciously. "It's untampered, look, it's still sealed." Upon seeing this, the boy opened it and took a few sips of water. "Thank you. For the water." The savior smiled. "It's nothing much." He shrugged. "Have a phone? If you want I can put my number in and then you'll always be able to tell someone if you're having a pissy day." Surprisingly enough, the boy agreed. . They would both be around twenty.Complete

Sam: I was raised the way that teaches you to be selfless. That's what I was doing my whole life. Taking care of my little brother when my parents couldn't or didn't want to, helping with chores, working, doing my best at school so I don't embarrass my family name, following my father's dreams and mothers expectations. After all the years of violence and roughness I grew to crave him like a secret drug. His gentle touch, his unconditional love and care. As much as my scarred soul craves it, this thing between us is crossing all the lines and breaking all the rules I knew. So I drown in ecstasy and weed even more, trying to figure myself out, so lost in my own bullshit that I didn't notice that his perfect life isn't as good as he says it is, and when I finally open my eyes, he's gone.
