Faye lives for books. She loves the adventurous plots, the sinister themes, and the overall thrill. Lately, the books she's been reading have been...calling to her. Her chest begins to hurt if her favorite titles are more than 10 feet away from her. Her head swims whenever she tries to focus on anything besides the books. And she's begun to pity and understand the villains. She thinks she's gone mad until she gets a couple of unexpected visits from close friends. Can they pull Faye from their foe's grasps? On that note, can they figure out who the foe is before they lose everything?

The Experience of Being Alive

48 parts Complete

What happens to characters in books when the book isn't being read? Where do they go? What do they do? Find out through the eyes of Binny Jordan, a character in a relatively new book, The Madrona Heroes Register, as she and her friends, Hermione Granger, Katniss Everdeen, and Arya Stark, explore this universe and find out what it means to not just play a role in someone else's story, but create your own. The girls will meet characters and visit settings from dozens of other books including everything from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams to Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy and The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, by Michael Chabon.
