"We make a great team... You and I-" I inched back as he tried to close the distance between us. "No. N- No. I can't let you near me..." I gasped, fighting the gravity that seemed to be pulling us towards each other. "Why... why not?" Hesitantly, he claimed my hands but I swiftly yanked it away. "Amora..." I whirled my attention to the ocean, hoping that he would take the hint. I bolted past him. This. This is what you call, running from the past. But the hurried footsteps tailed me until I felt a pair of strong arms around me. For the first time in years, the image of Dad's battered and bruised face entered my mind. That's when I tried to pull from his grasp, but he won't budge. "I- I," He snuggled his head against my neck and held on me like I was going to disappear. "I hate you..." Already regretting what I said, I made a run when I felt his grasp weaken. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 2nd book in the series that will make you go uWu when you see the plot twists. You don't really need to read the first book to understand this book :))) This book has a bit of a mix in it- it's mostly romance (obviously), humour and action. Do note that everything is fiction and made up.

Ava's best friend had a plan - her second brother was rich, tall, and good-looking. She told Ava to go on a blind date with him and "lock it down," so they could become sisters-in-law. Good news: Ava did sleep with someone. Bad news: it was the wrong guy. Crazy news: she accidentally married him. When her best friend found out the next day, she nearly had a meltdown. Ava tried to comfort her. "Hey, don't cry. My husband's even hotter than your brother. I'm not losing here!" Her friend wiped her tears, panicking. "Hot? Who cares about hot?! My *older* brother is stricter than a drill sergeant - old-fashioned, serious, cold as ice! The man practically lives by the rule book. Sure, he's easy on the eyes, but he has zero redeeming qualities! Marry him, and you'll be crying every day, standing at attention, and probably sleeping alone half the time. Ava, you just jumped straight into hell!"
