'Jayden Hunt'
The signs were all around him so how could he have missed them. Jayden Hunt is the protagonist of my 49,000-word fictional novel. He lives in a world seemingly peaceful but if you were to look deep into the faces of the inhabitants of this world you would see a glimmer of emotion of which will drive chills along the vertebrae of your spine. This emotion that has, over generations, etched itself into the strands of DNA within these people is none other than the overwhelming emotion of fear. Fear disguised by the well-worn mask of normality. However, Jayden is different, if you were to look deep into his eyes you would see a seemingly non-existent emotion which is nothing. But of course, this absence of emotion is nothing but a mirage, a rouse, a very well-worn mask. Beneath this mask of deception are the debilitating swirling emotions of pain, loss, grief, depression, confusion, and anger, just to name a few. However, it is tonight that the mask everyone so tightly wears will be ripped apart and humanity will once again know how it feels to fear. Tonight, is the beginning of the three nights of fear.
