A New Kind of Normal is the story of my step-dad, how his life changed in a second and by default changed ours too. He became ill one night and everything we knew to be normal about life altered forever. It was suggested by the Doctors that we keep a diary to explain to him later what he had missed. The road we had to walk wasn't pleasant or easy, nor does it have a definite destination but we walked it anyway. I hope to bring hope to others who find themselves identifying with this story...

Introduction I started a different walk in life in 2007. I have always jotted down ditties from time to time; the ones in this book came about with a massive change within my life. It appeared sometimes as if I had no control over the flow of words. The first sentence would come through and that would be that until the poem was finished, regardless of the length. I started taking a notebook and pen with me everywhere I went so I could write if I needed to. The last one of the book 'Now' marks the end of an era. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I have enjoyed writing them. Shadows I was walking along the other evening and I noticed my shadow,,, Then I noticed more shadows,,, For each light along the way it cast another shadow, hidden from view then the angle of me walking and the position of the light made it come into view, then go out of view again, sometimes, melting into another part of my shadow,,,, Mind you, they were all the different artificial lights, street, car, security, etc,,, I've only noticed one shadow with the light of the sun,,, Added to Heart Stains (HeartBreak) reading list by WattpadPoetry 07/02/2022💖

Change, it is inevitable. It's everything, the movement of time, past and even to our future. Even if we do not wish to change, it'll happen around us. There's no escaping the it, we learn, strive for our goals, grow apart and eventually learn to move on. We just come and go, that's just life. How about a chance to relive the past? Something new, something different, something blue, something old.... No, not getting married, but it is something new and different. My mood is blue and well, most days I do feel old, rather than young. Age is a mindset 😁 A collection of my author's notes, rather than putting them at the beginning or end of each story. I journal every day... I can't help it. I need to write, even if a story doesn't flow. When it pertains to a story or how I write, I will write it down too. Oh! an almost decade old story. * "one tragedy changed their lives." a story with dialogues and minimal description, in which a boy ends up in the hospital after a car accident and his friend slowly collapsing under the weight of his tortured mind. but what actually happened that one fateful night and what other secrets will be unraveled? * two main male pov's, recognizable through italics and normal text. a story written unlike any other. i hope you'll find comfort in it just as much as i have. be aware that this is a realistic story. * slow-burn start, but it picks up. don't let the number of chapters fool you; the average reading time for each is less than a minute . i came up with the story of the two friends when i was still quite young and i'm by no means a writer, so it deeply apologize if it sucks ass. feel free to vote and comment or point out any spelling mistakes or confusing paragraphs. it needs some editing and possibly some small changes or added chapters for clarity and better character development, but as for now, this first completed story will do. original story: around 2014. first upload: 2020. re-upload: 2023.
