Eira Lumikki is a young female Shaman from a snowy mountain village. She stands out from all the others because she's the only female Shaman in her entire village. She wants to prove her strengths to the whole village with her guardian ghost, a polar bear named Nanuk. But her father says it's not her place to be a Shaman, to leave it up to the men.

This causes Eira to lose faith in her abilities and hopes that her father would step out of his old ways. And when a member of the Patch Tribe, Rutherfor, came to the village to observe Shaman for the upcoming Shaman King fight she noticed Eira's potential and chooses her to participate.

With no other choice but to let his daughter go Mr. Lumikki says goodbye to his daughter and Eira sets off to Japan where the first rounds are being held. It's there Eira meets Yoh Asakura and company. She quickly makes allies with them and in time comes to realize feelings that started to form with one of them.
