Essence has grown up in a perfect life, perfect parents, perfect friends, perfect town. She only now realizes that she might be the only thing out of place in it. When she travels to Britain with her friends, the game starts to change.
Essence feels less chained, almost like she has left the chore of her perfectness. Taking risks, she starts to enjoy herself, truly finding out the meaning of life.
What starts off as a few consequences turns into a horrific bad luck. Not only does she not hold that perfectness anymore, but now her life is ruled with darkness and messups wherever she goes.
