A woman named Sandy discovers love letters in her mother's closet from an unknown man she soon discovers is her father who she was told had been killed in the Battle of the Bulge. She decides to try and find him fifty years later. The next story is about her mother and father and their life during WWII when he becomes a tank commander and she becomes a welder in a defense plant.
