Akira thought her reason for leaving was justified. She didn't want Kellin's career to once again be hinder by her. Her love for him is what got her through the hardest decision of her life until that bundle of joy arrived.
"I still hadn't told Kellin. I didn't know how to. I walked out on him over two years ago, it's not like I could just show up one day and say "Hey sorry for ghosting you but I thought you would like to know you have son..." and expect him to be okay with it."
