He is there when you are born, counting down the exact years... months... days... seconds until you die. There is nowhere to run and he will always be there, looming and waiting. He was there when the universe was born and he will be here until it dies when he will flick the light switch and stack the chairs before closing the door to the universe. Death doesn't think much of humans, they are filthy and annoying. They destroy everything they touch and by the late 2060s they have almost run their planet dry of resources. If that was not enough they proceed to travel into space and destroy other planets too! In short Death doesn't like the human race. But there is one human that defies all logic and sense. When it is his time Death can't take him, hes turned immortal. Harold Marlow. Death continues to encounter him through the ages, sharing many memories and adventures with the human. As there are so many Death decided to write them all down in this book. To remember them, and because he has nothing better to do and needs a hobby (other than collecting peoples souls when they die). ••••••• Sorry if the first few are dull but I promise they will get more exciting as we go along - and longer too!

Ten years later, he found the man who could make it happen again. One touch, and his body was erased from Earth. His mind? Uploaded into the Core-a colossal, star-powered supercomputer where immortal alien citizens live in virtual paradise. Now Kevin is the first human Guest of the Tela race, armed with a handful of digital credits, no way home, and a strange new ability: he can bend reality with his imagination. But in a society of godlike beings, being unique is dangerous. Between corrupt security heads, reality-bending nightmares, and a discovery that threatens to tear the Core apart, Kevin must learn to wield power he doesn't fully understand-before someone decides he's worth more dead than alive.
