You are a princess. Well, not by blood. You are forced to be someone you aren't and will never be. Your life should consist of makeup, dresses, politeness and manners. Instead you enjoy hunting, fighting and being blunt. If necessary even in an elegant dress. You love the danger, sometimes you even tend to be a little reckless.
Princess Zelda was like a sister to you. The royal family took you in when your life was merely bound to a thin, fragile string. At the young age of 4 you lost your family, your house, your existence.
Ever since then you are known as princess y/n among the kingdom.

She tells him about where she has been for the past five years, and once Link finds out the truth, he dedicates his days to helping Zelda feel safe and happy again away from her selfish, rich father Rhoam and her forced fiance, Ganondorf. While Link and Zelda try to save themselves from the abuse, an evil prince from another country declares war on Hyrule in hopes of annexing the kingdom, and Link must go to war, leaving Zelda. Zelink AU Medieval Fanfiction Zelda, currently Princess of Hyrule wishes to see the world outside of the castle. Her father expects her to marry one of the chosen suitors to prepare Hyrule's next King, but she doesn't like the sight of any of them. Link is a Hylian knight with a tragic past. Being secretive and closed off is how he prefers to live. He has a quest he believes he must do alone-to find his older sister. But Hyrule is subject to an unknown danger, within itself. How will the mystery unfold and how will Zelda and Link achieve their dreams? I don't think I'm super great at medieval writing...(knowing the time period, vocabulary, descriptions, etc...) but I tried anyways! Sorry for the unappetizing description.
