"No," she whispered, "I don't believe you." His green eyes snapped to hers, his heart twisting at the sound of her voice.
She knew their love was strong; but it wasn't enough. It was sweet but lacking passion and understanding, and she thought it was fine for the time being. They never said much, but her mind was a storm and the depths of his eyes spoke volumes.
"Believe me," he was now fighting back tears of his own, "I don't love you anymore." He swallowed thickly as if the words were sand paper grating his tongue. Of course he was lying, he loved her. My god, he loved her more than words could ever properly explain, but he was a hurricane and she was a tornado. They just didn't mix like the light wind and soft drizzle they used to be.
