"Why must you run?" He slowly stalked toward me, his dark green eyes staring at my every move.
"Isn't that what you monstrous dogs enjoy? The chase?" I spat, regret completely taking over my body.
The hurt in his eyes was only there for a split second before the angry took over. His face was finally visible to me, our faces so close that if either of us were to lean forward our lips would meet.
"I can assure you Mara, I will win this chase."

Mara is your average young adult, you would think. After graduating college, she finally wants to fulfill her mother's dream, to find the man who murdered her grandfather.
