The night, dark as it was, couldn't get worse. I can only hear the crunch of leaves beneath my bare feet. I had escaped him for now, but I knew as soon as the first sliver of light passed through the canopy above me.. he would catch me, if not before then, and he would beat me.. again... I turned around ready to run when I heard the stomp of heavy boots behind me, but it was already too late...

I have revamped the story please let me know how you like it I was sitting alone in the park, looking out over the frozen lake, watching the sun set. When I heard something behind me, *Snap* that made me jump, (it was hard not to). As the crackling sounds of leaves, and twigs under a heavy foot, it was larger than myself but also never said I was very big.
