Midnight Chimes follows the travels of Cecilia Gates and Alexander Bennett after a demon destroys the Archive, a place built to house ancient magical artifacts and their history. Not only are all the beings inside let loose upon the world, but Cecilia's mentor Everard Kadwell has disappeared, taking the Codex Requiem with him. The Codex is the most powerful relic in existence, something that Everard guards very carefully. But Cecilia has always felt there's more to the Codex, and to Everard than there seems. With the help of Alexander and a group of unique beings, will Cecilia be able to find Everard before the clock strikes midnight?
